There are many calculations that people make when something is available easily. Remember google does not pay you just because you make a site or blog and they are very happy with your content. They pay you only if they earn from you. There is a system that works behind all this. Google is considered as the best search engine worldwide so google use that market value. Advertiser who want to make business they pay google for showing thier ads, not banner but in text format. That system is called ADWORDS. When you search for any keyword on google, it display's all the result and if you notice there are also ads there at the side bar. Those ads are call Adwords. Now google want the advertiser to get more exposure and it also want to earn more money from advertiser so it ask you to advertise on your site. Whatever google gets you earn the part of it. Remember use proper defination for your site so you get targeted ads because if you don't get targeted ads no one will click on it.
